Volkswagen Golf Variant

The estate/wagon version of the seventh-generation VW Golf is the car you buy if you already like the hatch but are in search of more rear space for passengers and bags. Its styling is simple and not offensive and it has the same high quality interior we’ve come to expect from a VW-badged car, plus it’s lighter and more frugal than before.
Carbuyer recently reviewed it and concluded their review with the usual VW-esque strong points. They do, however, recommend other, cheaper or more fun cars; price is probably the Golf Variant ‘s biggest downfall, especially when you can buy the bigger Skoda Octavia wagon for less and you get a lot of the same.
