Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS

So you don’t want the full-blown 911 GT3, yet the regular Carrera models are too ordinary for you, well now Porsche has the answer: the Carrera GTS. It’s seen as a stepping stone between the regular 911s and the GT3, and according to Steve Sutcliffe from Autocar it’s really very good indeed.

At the start of the video review he doesn’t seem sure what to make of it, but as he drives it more, he does find a spot for it in Porsche’s range.

The car he tested was the Carrera 4 GTS model which was heavier and slightly dulled down – it has 424 hp, so it’s not a huge number by modern standards, so the extra weight of the all-wheel drive system may have played its part. We say if you want to buy one of these GTS models, just get the classic rear-wheel drive one, since it has so many electronic nannies that you will never crash if you’re sensible.
